Background
Christina Yorkston gained an early appreciation for combining the old and the new through her parents' ground-up restoration of their family home, a circa-1729 Delaware house. Her approach often centers on seeking inspiration in the home's architecture and in the client's favorite work of art, color, or object.
She founded Christina Yorkston Design in 2008, after working in New York City for Deborah Berke & Partners, Architects and for Katherine Berry, AIA. Since graduating from New York University in 2001 with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Art History, Christina has studied interior design at Parsons, the New School for Design, and at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
With the visual training from careers in Development at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and her study of art/architectural history and decorative arts, Christina is skilled at creating environments that blend both the traditional and the modern. Her career in large-scale corporate conference producing, where she was responsible for content project management and profitability for events in the Defense and Pharmaceutical sectors, trained her in the facets of running a business.
Combining both design and business skills, Christina is uniquely positioned to turn clients' visions into reality on-budget and in a timely fashion.
